Happy Spring!!!

Happy Spring! The snow is almost gone here in not so sunny MN today, but it's all good. My boys headed back to school this morning after a long week off for spring break. So I decided that I would do some stamping :) I have officially scheduled my first workshop/card club. I decided to do an Easter theme, so I made this little bunny card and will also be doing a basket of some sort, yet to be determined!

Recognize the sketch? Yep, I just flipped Mojo's sketch from last week :) I am thinking of doing an egg in place of the heart maybe. Anyway thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Monday!!! It's Mojo Sketch Day

I can't get enough of the Woodland Walk DSP. I absolutely love the color combo. I am so excited that I got to play along with the Mojo Monday Sketch today! Above is my card, and here is the sketch:

For my sentiment, I combined two stamps. First I stamped live with passion, and then I got out my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the butterfly and trail on each side of the passion. I love how it turned out.

The last little detail of my card is the flower. I punched out a scallop in each of Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake and a circle in Wild Wasabi. I then crumpled up each of them and pulled them apart so I would have two thinner pieces to work with. I layered them together and added an Antique brad to the middle. What do you think?

Spring is on my Mind!!!

As I was shoveling the driveway the other day, I heard a bird singing. Could this mean that spring is finally coming to MN? I sure hope so. We are going on 5 months of snow now, and a lot of it!!! Anyway, I thought about this bird from Nature Walk and had to ink it up. Maybe it will give me more hope for spring :)

I must admit that this was a little out of my norm, but I love how it turned out!!! A lot of distressing involved and a little bit of paper tearing and ta da!!! Thanks for stopping by :)

A Simple Thursday Thanks!!!

I saw a super cute owl card created by another demonstrator (I apologize that I don't remember who it was) and decided that I must have that punch. This card is similar to the one I saw but with my own added flair :)

I think my favorite color right now is Wild Wasabi :) I also love, love, love the crochet ribbon! This card was fun and I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by :)

Yesterday was my baby boy's birthday!!! I can't believe he turned 6. He is growing up so fast and learning so much. I smile every day just to see him happy. So he wanted a "real" pet monkey for his birthday, but got this silly little dancing one instead from big brother, which he adores :)

The second bit of exciting news is that I am now officially a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!!!!! Yay, this has only been three years in the making. I guess I finally decided to take the leap and here I am. I am very excited to get going and start creating and sharing the fun and love of Stanpin' Up! with everyone!!! My starter kit is HERE!!!! I couldn't wait to get started and so with a birthday boy in the house, I put together this bday card, which is very much like the card in the Idea Book and Catalog on page 54.

Ladybug Birthday!

I pulled out an oldie but a goodie. This big bloom stamp from Stampin' Up! has always been one of my favorites!!! Sometimes it is challenging to come up with new designs. My niece loves ladybugs and this came to mind. Here is what I came up with. Simple and oh so cute :)

And I also created a more monochromatic version as well minus the ladybug.

I think that these would make very cut invitaions as well. Thanks for looking :)

Wow, can you believe it is July already? So nothing to share with you today in the stamping world, but some great things personally that I thought I'd share because I am sooooo excited!

Our anniversary weekend was awesome!! The Hilton was so great and relaxing, and the bed was so comfortable to sleep in I could hardly get up. Saturday night we went to see The Count of Monte Cristo on the Centennial Showboat at Harriet Island. It was AWESOME!!! I highly recommend it for anyone in the Twin Cities area :)

Some pictures to share!!! The first one is of the boys ready for a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's!!! They were so excited and had a great time as usual.

Here is a picture of the showboat! It is permanently docked at Harriet Island. We had dinner there also before the show. It was very affordable.

So for our anniversary present to each other along with the getaway we bought a new camera, way excited about that!!!! Our old one was starting to poop out and needed to warm up before we took pictures which is impossible with two very active little boys. Anyway we invested in a good one this time around. We got a Sony cybershot 9 mega pixel and it is awesome. So far only have a great picture of our little Maxie to share, but can't wait to get some good card photos!!! (The previous two pictures were taken with our old camera.) The pictures are so much clearer than our 4 mega pixel and the zoom is amazing.

Next I wanted to share with you that I took my Nursing Assistant certification exam yesterday, and I passed, YEAH!!!!! This is one step closer to actually being accepted into the nursing program and I can actually get back into the work force after staying at home. I am ready to get back out there. So in the next couple of weeks I hope to find a PT job as a certified nursing assistant.

I am so excited for tomorrow! DH and I are staying in St. Paul at the Hilton and going to see the Count of Monte Cristo at Harriet Island on the Showboat!!! It is our 7th anniversary, and I can't wait to get away.

My card for today is for my dear grandmother. I think I mentioned before that she bought me a huge box of stamps from a garage sale, so I decided to use one of the images from mice messages for her card. I played along with this week's sketch challenge at SCS. This was a fun one. I stamped the image then colored it with my prisma pencils. (I love coloring:)btw) I then distressed the edges with timber brown ink and matted it on choc chip and river rock which I distressed with the paper distressor tool. For the small squares I used basic grey infuse papers. I pierced each piece and added faux stitching with a choc chip pen and going over with my clear glaze pen to add some dimension. I also distressed the edges of the squares. I was hoping to achieve a quilt look. Finally I stamped the sentiment, which I cut apart from the main image, in choc chip and embossed with clear EP. TFL!!!

I Scrapped, I Scrapped!

YEAH!!! I finally got some scrappin' done! Woohoo :) This is a huge accomplishment for me considering the crazy schedule we have had around here. Both layouts were inspired by sketches from the oh so talented Becky Higgins. Creative Sketches for Scrapbooking is like the scrapbookers bible IMO!

This first laout is done on bashful blue cardstock from SU! and not sure of the navy paper it was from a paper stack that I picked up a Target maybe? The stitched sticker letters are from Paper Bliss, super cool! I attached the journaling strips with baby blue brads and added a Kolo album because there were far too many pictures (a girlfriend of mine did a photo shoot of me and the boys at a local park and she captured some amazing candid shots) that I wanted to include with this!

The next layout features some pictures from Father's Day this year. The boys and I surprised Dad with tickets to the Twins game. We had a blast!!! Again I had so many cute photos and was inspired by one of Becky Higgins' sketches. I found this amazing baseball paper by Francis Meyer for the background. I also used some misc. baseball patterned paper and red cardstock for matting purposes. My little man Sam wnated to help so I had him draw a picture on a 3x3 piece of white cardstock with my Zig pens and included it in the layout. He was so proud and it is so adorable on the page :) TFL!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend! Thank you to those who have visited my blog:) I am having too much fun. Speaking of too much fun, how come I have so much that I want to do, but not enough time to do it. This week coming up is going to be NUTS!!!

On top of this I just started two online classes that go for ten weeks and the new Harry Potter book came out. UGH!! When am I supposed to scrap and stamp :( I am already going to miss my monthly Stampin Up! get together because I have to work. Oh well, I will just have to place a bigger order because of the money I am making right ha! ha! BTW, I finally got over to my demos to pick up the new catty, can you say YUMMY!!! Man how am I going to decide what I want the most, I want it all, especially that new dp and ribbon collections, and the build a brads and the rhinestones brads, and the new IN colors.....you get the picture! Anywho I just submitted my two assignments for this week and I was going to do some stampin' but that HP book is calling my name so I am going to go crack it open and snuggle up in bed for a bit.

Some pictures from the Fourth!

My husband's family has a retired farm in northern MN, and we ususlly try to go up there a couple of times during the summer. There are some cute little towns nearby and we love to go visiting and of course shopping! The boys love to go to the parks and play! We always go to this little park in Perham, home of the turtle races, and slide on the huge turtle slide. Here are Sam and Ben standing on top!

Here is another park in Vergas, home of the world's largest loon! Noticing a trend here with the large animals! There is also the world's largest turkey in Frazee, but we did not make it to see that one. All of these towns are within 10 miles from the farm! Anyway, this is a family picture of all of us at the loon!

The next picture is my husband and the boys out on the fishing dock in Vergas. I absolutely love this picture of them :)

And here is our farm dog, Maxie. She loves all of the room she has to run up there. She was so worn out after the few days we were up there she didn't make a peep our whole trip back.

Another Try!

Wow, I am going to give this another try! I intented to keep this going from the original post back in April, but here it is July and this is only my second post! I have been extremely busy with school finishing for the quarter and starting a PT job, and running in my first ever organized event. How am I going to have time for this? I will make it work. I need an outlet to share my passion for all things crafty and maybe a few tidbits of my personal life as well :) I have been inspired by a few of the regular blogs that I have visited and am willing to give it a try. I will post some photos of the grueling four mile run I just completed and some fun pictures from our holiday getaway soon. TFL!!!

Welcome to my blog!

Hello all and welcome to my blog. I have been viewing other crafting blogs and decided to start my own as a place to share my projects and a little bit of information about myself! I have been scrapping for about 6 years and just recently started getting into stamping. Some other crafts I love are crocheting (which I have been doing since I was 5) and beading. These are my favs, but I am always willing to give something new a try!! Keep in mind that these are supposed to be hobbies. lol The majority of my day is spent at home with my two wonderful boys, ages 2 and 4, and my loving and supportive husband of almost 6 years :) I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends.
